I am a visual artist based in Knoxville, Tennessee. In my paintings, I delve into the profound connection between Black women and the healing elements exuded by the Southern Black Garden and memorial waters. Using oil, glitter, and familial fabric, I create a revitalized perspective on what it means to exist in historical southern regions charged with painful remembrance. By situating Black femmes amidst vivid florals and racialized landscapes, I expose life that is not predetermined by the framed perspectives of the social world.
